The Jackson County Chamber of Commerce presented the 2018 Brick Awards at the Chamber’s annual meeting on February 7, 2019. The Jackson Commercial Contractors Association sponsors the Brick Awards to recognize businesses who are investing in their growth and the overall growth of our community.
This recognition honors the owner(s) of a building who have substantially upgraded the physical façade and/or facilities by improving the interior and/or exterior of an existing building within the last three years.
The Brick Awards were presented to JTV, the Cascades Humane Society and Blain’s Farm and Fleet.
JTV’s upgrades included a brand new set for television production of its daily talk show, The Bart Hawley Show, an HD studio, the General Materials Green Room, new lobby, offices, restroom and studio space. JCCA member O’Harrow Construction Company served as General Contractor on the project.
Cascades Humane Society added on to its current building. The expansion allows the shelter to house more dogs, add new surgery suites, add more cat cages and created new examination rooms. O’Harrow Construction Company also was responsible for this project.
Blain’s Farm and Fleet opened its 128,000-square-foot location in September at the former Kmart at 3555 O’Neill Drive. It was the first Blain’s to open in Michigan. The project included interior buildout and extensive exterior work.
