JCCA Scholarship Application Period Opens

The Jackson Commercial Contractors Association will award two (2) $1,000 grants to graduating high school seniors who in the summer or fall of 2016 will be starting further education toward a career in construction trades. The grant will be paid directly to the program/school designated by the applicant. The selection committee will choose the grant winner based on the answers to the questions, letter of recommendation and the recommendation of the faculty of the Construction Trades programs at the Jackson Area Career Center.

Jackson Commercial Contractors Association was formed to increase awareness of the availability and the excellence of local contractors. Keeping as many local construction dollars local as possible is valuable to the entire community. A strong economy supports schools, social services, as well as arts and recreational resources helping to make Jackson a vibrant and desirable place to live. This grant for continuing education in the construction trades is one way to help insure the continued availability and excellence of local contractors.

Interested students may download the application here.  Applications are due by April 30, 2016 and should be turned into John Kopp, Building Trades Department at the Jackson Area Career Center.
